Psychotherapy Services
Qualifications, training, and approach-
I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling. I have obtained training through my coursework, research, seminars, practicum experiences, internships, and intensive training workshops in several specialty areas including traumatic stress and stress disorders, crime victim counseling/debriefing, crisis intervention, child and adult development, family therapy, play therapy, specialized therapy approaches for children and adolescents, narrative therapy, solution focused therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, emotion-focused therapy, couples counseling, career counseling, personal/professional performance enhancement, relaxation training, guided imagery, hypnosis, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), and psychological assessment. My approach to the therapy process is collaborative and an integrative one that may include any combination of one or more techniques or therapeutic modalities that seem to be the best fit for your situation. A complete copy of my current Vitae Curriculum is available upon request.
Range of services-
Psychotherapy services are provided for children, adolescents, and adults with individual, relationship, and/or family difficulties. I provide specialized services for first responders including firefighters, paramedics, law enforcement, and corrections personnel. We also have a ten session psycho-educational group called "Creative Coping Skills" designed in collaboration with other therapists to assist adults in mastering coping skills to enhance their quality of living.
Insurance accepted-
I accept many insurance plans including, but not limited to: Aetna, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, HMA, Uniform, Boeing Value Options, and more. Many insurance plans will pay for services outside of their network and it is important that you check with your insurance plan to determine the nature of your coverage. Often people do not wish to involve insurance companies due to privacy concerns and therefore prefer to pay for these services out of pocket. If for some reason you, like many people, do not currently have health insurance, there are low cost and sliding scale options available from affiliated therapists or students under my supervision. See the "low cost services" section for more information.
